摘要 The present invention provides a liquid crystal display device and a driving method thereof which can reduce the power consumption without recognizing a flicker which often occurs in low frequency driving. A liquid crystal display device of the present invention comprises: a display panel which has a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of data lines and a plurality of pixels; a gate driving unit which is connected to the gate lines to apply a gate-on voltage; a data driving unit which is connected to the data lines to apply positive and negative data voltages; a signal control unit which controls the gate driving unit and data driving unit, and receives image data; and a detection unit which generates an eye-blinking signal by detecting eye blinking, and transmits the generated eye-blinking signal to the signal control unit. The signal control unit drives the data driving unit and gate driving unit with video frequency when the image data displays a video, and drives the data driving unit and gate driving unit with low frequency when the image data displays a still image. The signal control unit controls driving to refresh the pixels in response to the eye-blinking signal which is received from the detection unit when the still image is displayed.
