<p>The present invention relates to an optical transmitting/receiving device having a protective switching function, an optical transmitting device, and an optical receiving device capable of rapidly performing protective switching because optical transmitting/receiving monitoring is not required by a media access controller (MAC). The optical transmitting/receiving device is connected to the MAC of an optical transmitting/receiving system; receives an optical signal from an optical line; and transmits the optical signal to the optical line. The present invention comprises first and second optical transmitting/receiving modules; a multiplexer and a demultiplexer; and a control unit. The first and second optical transmitting/receiving modules comprise a light transmitting device and a light receiving device, convert the optical signal received from the optical line into an electronic signal, convert the electronic signal offered from the MAC into the optical signal, and transmit the same to the optical line. The multiplexer and the demultiplexer selectively form an electronic connection path between the first or second optical transmitting/receiving module and the MAC. The control unit performs determines that one of the first and second optical transmitting/receiving modules performs an optical transmitting/receiving operation; determines failure by monitoring the state of the first or second optical transmitting/receiving module performing the optical transmitting/receiving operation; stopping the operation of the first or second optical transmitting/receiving module performing the optical transmitting/receiving operation when the failure is generated; determines that the remaining one performs the optical transmitting/receiving operation; and forms the electronic connection path between the first or second optical transmitting/receiving module performing the optical transmitting/receiving operation and the MAC.</p> |
