The present invention relates to a protection plate for a roadside tree having excellent flame retardancy and water resistance; and to a manufacturing method thereof. More particularly, the protection plate for a roadside tree is formed by applying a flame retardant mixture to a mat. The manufacturing method comprises: a mat manufacturing step of manufacturing a mat by needle-punching nonwoven fabric with a thickness of 5 mm; an impregnation step of impregnating the mat, which has been manufactured in the mat manufacturing step, with a flame retardant mixture; a drying step of drying the mat impregnated with the flame retardant mixture in the impregnation step; and a compression molding step of molding the mat, which has been dried in the drying step, into the thickness of 3 mm by compressing the mat using a calendar. The protection plate for a roadside tree manufactured through the steps reduces installation and maintenance costs compared with a traditional protection plate for a roadside tree as the protection plate for a roadside tree not only exhibits excellent flame retardancy and water resistance but also has a long replacement cycle owing to low manufacturing costs and excellent mechanical properties. |
