<p>Aqueous peroxide emulsion comprises a hydroxy peroxyester, antifreeze comprising (m)ethanol, n- and isopropanol, ethylene and propylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, glycerol, 1- and 2-butanol, 1,3- or 1,4-butanediol, protective colloid comprising polyvinyl alcohol, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate or a cellulose derivative. - Aqueous peroxide emulsion containing no surfactant or organic solvent and having a freezing point below -10 deg. C comprises (wt.%): a hydroxy perester with a 10-hour half-life temperature below 50 deg. C (10-65); antifreeze comprising methanol, ethanol, n-propanol, isopropanol, ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-propanediol, glycerol, 1-butanol, 2-butanol, 1,3-butanediol or 1,4-butanediol (2-25); protective colloid comprising polyvinyl alcohol, partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl acetate or a cellulose derivative (0.01-10); optionally additives; and water (to 100). - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for producing the emulsion by dispersing the antifeeze and protective colloid in water, adding the hydroxy peroxyester and emulsifying the mixture at a temperature below 5 deg.
