The present invention relates to a protease having an algicidal activity, a gene encoding the same, and an algicidal formulation including the same. The protease of the present invention has the excellent algicidal formulation, thereby being used in controlling of red tide in a red tide occurrence area. Provided in the present invention is a method for controlling red tide, which includes the step of treating the area where red tide occurs with the algicidal formulation. Specifically, provided is a method for controlling red tide which is characterized by comprising the steps of: producing at least one protease selected from the group consisting of sequence number 1, 7, and 27 by using a Kordia algicida OT1 strain (KCTC 11320BP); and putting an algicidal formulation which contains the produced protease as an active component into sea. |
