<p>1,261,163. Polyester moulding materials. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. 6 May, 1970 [7 May, 1969], No. 21726/70. Heading C3R. A polyester suitable for injection moulding and having S.V. of 0À6-2À4 dl/g. comprises residues of (a) an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, e.g. terephthalic acid and optionally up to 5 mol. per cent aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, (b) a saturated aliphatic or cycloaliphatic diol, e.g. ethylene glycol and (c) 0À005 to 2% by weight of the polyester of a cyclopentane or cyclohexane polycarboxylic acid with at least 3 carboxyl groups. Injection moulding compositions containing the polyester may also contain inorganic crystallization promoters such as calcium carbonate or sulphate, kaolin, pyrophyllite, talc, titanium dioxide or carbon black with grain size less than 2 Á, and may also contain organic crystallization promoters such as sodium montonate or ionic copolymers of ethylene and acrylic acid containing sodium ions or cations. The composition may contain up to 20% of a copolymer of ethylene and acrylic acid ethyl ester, ethylene and vinyl acetate or butadiene and styrene.</p> |
