<p>PURPOSE: A steering device and a rack bar support device with a gap adjusting device are provided to control a compliance area, and to maintain a constant gap between a rack bar and a yoke with preventing rattle noise. CONSTITUTION: A gap adjusting device comprise a guide member(410), an elastic member(420), a pad member(430), and a adjusting member(440). The guide member comprises a flat board portion(411), an elastic member mounting projection(412), and a projection for mounting the adjusting member. The elastic member is mounted around the projection. The pad member is formed into a ring shape. The pad member comprises a through hole(413), a first housing groove(432) and a second housing groove(433). The projection penetrates the through hole. The first housing groove is larger than the projection. The second housing groove receives the adjusting member. The adjusting member is mounted on the projection, and determines the installation position corresponding to a required compliance size.</p> |
