<p>In one aspect, the invention provides an interharmonic noise attenuation post filter with variable gain controlling the interharmonic attenuation, the 5 filter being adapted to receive an input signal comprising a preliminary audio signal decoded according to one of a plurality of decoding modes, and to supply an output audio signal, the post filter including a control section with a gain controller operable to set the variable gain to zero, whereby the post filter supplies the preliminary audio signals as output 10 audio signal, in dependence of the value of a post-filtering signal only. In another aspect, the invention provides a decoder system for decoding a bit stream signal as an audio time signal, including: a decoding section for decoding a bit stream signal as a preliminary audio time signal; and the interharmonic noise attenuation post filter.
