Tru-Center Rafter Clip System

A Rafter Clip System 10 that when used with a standard retractable tape measure 20 and a common drill bit will provide for the translation of multiple vertically running horizontally displaced rafter centers from inside an accessible roof area where rafters centers are visible, to outside a roof area on-top of a decking 3 above the shingles, requiring only two alignment holes for the translation of multiple centers. These centers are marked on a tape measures tape which is referenced and secured between a 1st Rafter Clip 1 and a horizontally displaced 2nd Rafter Clip 19 inside the roof area. The tape measures tape is then referenced and secured between an aligned 1st Translation Plate 15 and 2nd Translation Plate 18 on the outside of the roof, where the marked centers from the inside of the roof are now visible on the outside of the roof.

1. A hand tool system, for use from within an assessable roof area, with a standard tape measure; having a retractable tape, a tape end tab, and a tape belt clip and, with a standard drill bit, to provide an outside of the roof reference for a first and last structural member or rafters center along a horizontal span, and to record on the tape measures tape, the spacing's of the multiple intermediate structural members or rafters inside the roof area, along the said horizontal span and, then translate said record of said spacing's to outside said roof area, therein comprising in combination:
a 1st Rafter Clip having a downward opening U-shaped section with a centering and securing hole geometrically centered in its base, and a drill bit alignment member offset and parallel centered to said centering and securing hole and another U-shaped section upward opening and perpendicularly facing to said downward opening U-shaped section; a 2nd Rafter Clip having a downward opening U-shaped section with a centering and securing hole geometrically centered in its base, a drill bit alignment member offset and parallel centered to said centering and securing hole, and a tape end support member, a Tape Support Clip having a downward opening U-shaped section with a centering and securing hole geometrically centered in its base and a tape support member, a 1st Translation Plate having an upward opening U-shaped section a centering and securing hole and an alignment hole offset and parallel centered to said centering and securing hole, a 2nd Translation Plate with a centering and securing hole and an alignment hole offset and parallel centered to said centering and securing hole and a tape end support member.
