A charging device (2) is provided with a battery (30) and at least one electric motor. The electric motor is a device that charges a battery of a battery-powered forklift (1) driven by power supplied from the battery. The charging device (2) comprises the following: a power conversion unit (73) for converting alternating current power to direct current power; a control unit (70) for controlling charging of the battery (30) on the basis of a command from a vehicle-mounted control device (60) mounted onto the battery-powered forklift (1); a power-supplying terminal for supplying direct current power to the battery (30); a communicating terminal for communicating with the battery-powered forklift (1); and a start-up terminal for transmitting a signal for starting up the vehicle-mounted control device (60). |
