摘要 The present invention provides a positive electrode for use in a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of realizing high initial discharge capacity and capacity retention rate, and a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the same. This positive electrode for use in a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery contains a positive electrode active material and an auxiliary conduction agent. The positive electrode active material comprises a solid solution of transition metal oxide containing lithium, represented by the chemical formula: Li1.5[NiaCobMnc[Li]d]O3 (where Li represents lithium, Ni represents nickel, Co represents cobalt, Mn represents manganese and O represents oxygen; a, b, c and d satisfy the relationships: 0 < a < 1.4, 0 &le; b < 1.4, 0 < c < 1.4, 0.1 < d &le; 0.4, a + b + c + d = 1.5, and 1.1 &le; a + b + c < 1.4). Then, the auxiliary conduction agent contains a carbon material, the BET specific surface area of the carbon material being 30 to 200 m2/g.
