The purpose of the present invention is to provide an electric power conversion device capable of rapidly connecting to a grid. The electric power conversion device comprises: booster circuits (12a-12e) connected to each of a plurality of solar cells (2a-2e) and which boost the output voltage of each connected solar cell (2a-2e); and an inverter circuit (13) that inputs combined DC power boosted by each of the booster circuits (12a-12e), converts the input DC power to AC power that synchronizes with a commercial power grid (3), and enables superposing of same on the commercial power grid (3). The electric power conversion device is characterized by: causing one booster circuit (12a) among the plurality of booster circuits (12a-12e) to start operating; starting conversion using the inverter circuit (13); and, after starting conversion using the inverter circuit (13), causing the operation of the other booster circuits (12b-12e) among the plurality of booster circuits (12a-12e) to start.
