PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a retainer which is mounted at a temporary lock position, from being displaced relatively to a housing.SOLUTION: A female-side connector F (connector) comprises: a retainer 30 which is housed in a mounting hole 14 and selectively mounted at a temporary lock position where an operation for inserting a terminal fitting 50 into a housing 10 is allowed and a main lock position where the retainer is locked to the inserted terminal fitting 50 and the terminal fitting 50 is prevented from being dropped; a proximal end portion 33 which forms a rear end portion of the retainer 30 in a direction of mounting to the housing 10 and is positioned outside of the mounting hole 14 while the retainer 30 is located at the temporary lock position; and backlash eliminating parts (first backlash eliminating surface 21, second backlash eliminating surface 22, first backlash eliminating protrusion 41 and second backlash eliminating protrusion 42) formed in the proximal end portion 33 and the housing 10 for preventing the retainer 30 from being displaced relatively to the housing 10 while the retainer 30 is located at the temporary lock position. |
