PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image projection device capable of reducing the occurrence probability of a mercury bridge, when a power supply code is pulled out from a power supply, so as to turn off a power supply, without operating a power supply button and to provide a control method and a program.SOLUTION: A projector 1 includes a power supply code 20 which is connected to the power supply and to which a current for driving the projector 1 is inputted, a lock mechanism 22 locking the power supply code 20 with respect to the power supply, a lock release mechanism 23 releasing the lock of the power supply code 20 by the lock mechanism 22, a lock release detection part 24 detecting the release of the lock of the power supply code 20 by the lock mechanism 22, and a controller 70 performing mercury bridge reduction processing for reducing the mercury bridge occurring in a high-pressure mercury lamp 30, when the lock release detection part 24 detects the release of the lock of the power supply code 20 by the lock release mechanism 23. |
