Provided are a coloring composition unlikely to produce foreign matter when left in a low-temperature environment for a long period of time, a cured film, a color filter, a method for manufacturing a color filter, a solid-state image pickup device, and an image display device. A coloring composition containing (A) a dye multimer and (B) a solvent, wherein the (A) dye multimer has an anionic site and a partial structure derived from xanthene dye having a cationic site, and the sodium ion concentration and/or the potassium ion concentration in the coloring composition is 0.1 to 10 ppm.
