<p>A sterilization device (1) for performing sterilization by irradiating the surface of a resin with UV light, wherein the sterilization device (1) is provided with a light emission unit (6) having a flash discharge tube (5) for emitting UV light, a light emission controller (8) for controlling the amount of light emitted by the flash discharge tube (5), and a transmission-limiting part (7) provided between the light emission unit (6) and the resin. The transmission-limiting part (7) limits transmission of light having a wavelength less than at least 250 nm from among the UV light emitted by the light emission unit (6). It is thereby possible to produce a sterilization device (1) that minimizes resin degradation due to UV irradiation while maintaining a sterilizing effect.</p>
