PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To instantaneously turn off the light of the screen of a display where a picture is displayed even when the housing of a portable terminal device is closed.SOLUTION: A portable terminal device includes: an opening/closing sensor for detecting the opening/closing state of a housing; and an operation and processing registration unit for previously registering the predetermined operation of a user or the predetermined processing of an application. The portable terminal device determines whether a first time being a screen off setting time for turning off the light of a screen has passed or not when the termination of the registered predetermined operation or predetermined processing is detected, and determines whether a second time being a predetermined time shorter than the first time (the screen off setting time) has passed or not when the termination of the registered predetermined operation or predetermined processing is detected. When it is determined that the second time has passed before the passage of the first time in a case where the opening/closing sensor detects the change of the housing from an open state into a closed state, the light of the screen is turned off or luminance is reduced. |
