<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mode multiplexer/demultiplexer that can achieve, regardless of fiber position accuracy, the mode coupling and mode separation required when a single-mode fiber (SMF) is connected to a few-mode fiber (FMF), and does not degrade the characteristic even when it is used at a wavelength in a wide range, and to provide a manufacturing method of the mode multiplexer/demultiplexer.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a mode multiplexer/demultiplexer. The mode multiplexer/demultiplexer includes: a plurality of first optical fiber groups 11, 12, and 13, a plurality of optical lens units 21, 22, and 23, a mode modulation unit 30, a multiplexing/demultiplexing unit 40, and a second fiber 50. The mode modulation unit 30 includes one or more inversion phase difference plates 31 and 32 corresponding to at least one or more of the plurality of optical lens units 21, 22, and 23.</p> |
