The purpose of the present invention is to provide a data transfer system and method that are capable of the following: transferring only the physical quantity of simulation results data that is necessary from a user's perspective; creating region divisions on the basis of the attributes of the physical quantity; specifying an allowable range of compression error in accordance with the purpose of each region division; compressing the data on the basis of the specified error range and transferring the data; and displaying, on the recipient/client side, errors in each region division for each physical quantity. For this purpose, the present invention is characterized by having the following: a physical quantity specification unit; a region division unit; an error specification unit; a data compression unit; a data transfer unit that transfers to a recipient/client, via a network, compressed data obtained by the data compression unit, physical quantity configuration data obtained by the physical quantity specification unit, region division configuration data obtained by the region division unit, and error configuration data obtained by the error specification unit; a data restoration unit that restores the compressed data on the recipient/client side; and a data visualization unit. |
