<p>A connector assembly and methods of mounting the assembly. The assembly may include an activator defining a bore for passage of the pipe therethrough, the activator being activated to cause at least a portion of a gripping segment to grip the outer surface of the pipe and to cause a compression seal to be compressed and form a seal with the pipe; and a locking mechanism operable to hold an activated condition of the activator relative to the pipe. The activator may include a hydraulic activator including a housing defining a channel, and a ram supported in the channel for axial movement, hydraulic fluid being introduced into the channel to axially move the ram to cause the portion of a gripping segment to grip an outer surface of the pipe and to cause the compression seal to be compressed and form a seal with the pipe.</p> |
