PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that includes an elastic member urging a transfer roller to a drive roller side, and can prevent the transfer roller from separating from the drive roller due to a gear reaction force applied to a transfer roller gear when a drive roller gear is driven to rotate.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes a plurality of idle gears transmitting the driving force of a drive roller gear 101 to a transfer roller gear 102. The plurality of idle gears includes a first idle gear 103 meshing with the transfer roller gear 102, and a second idle gear 104 meshing with the drive roller gear 101; the direction of a force acting from the first idle gear 103 to the transfer roller gear 102 is configured to coincide with the direction of a force applied to a transfer roller 34 from an elastic member 107. |
