The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock which is equipped with a lock, at least one actuation lever (1) for releasing the lock, and a locking lever (4) which can be pivoted about an axis (5). The locking lever (4) renders the lock ineffective, at least when acceleration forces (F) of a predetermined magnitude and direction occur, e.g. in the event of an accident (crash). According to the invention, said locking lever (4) comprises a connected spring (6) which impinges upon, in the normal operation, the actuation lever (1) overlapping the locking lever (4) for deflecting the locking lever (4) and is compressed in the event of a crash. |
