The present invention relates to the technical field of radio, and provides a method and apparatus for sensing a spectrum. The method comprises: clustering all channels in the same service, so as to obtain N channel sets and a representative channel of each channel set; and determining a channel set to which a to-be-sensed channel belongs and a corresponding representative channel Cn, 1≤n≤N, and calculating a current occupancy state of the to-be-sensed channel according to a historical occupancy state of the to-be-sensed channel and a current occupancy state of the representative channel Cn. By means of the method, current occupancy states of all channels in a corresponding channel set can be calculated and predicted by merely detecting a current occupancy state of a certain representative channel. The method uses occupancy relevance of channels under the same service, and therefore, the accuracy of channel occupancy state prediction can be improved.
