PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide soft magnetic powder which makes possible to obtain a powder-compact magnetic core arranged to be able to achieve both of a high magnetic property and a small loss at high level.SOLUTION: Soft magnetic powder comprises an iron alloy containing Si and Al. The iron alloy includes 4.5-7.5% of Si and 2.5-5.5% of Al with the balance consisting of Fe to 100 mass% thereof, provided that the total content of Si and Al is 10% or less. Using the soft magnetic powder having an alloy composition within a particular range like this, e.g. a powder-compact magnetic core which is large in saturation magnetization, low in coercive force, large in maximum magnetic flux density, and small in iron loss (hysteresis loss and eddy current loss) can be obtained easily. Further, in the case of the soft magnetic powder of the present invention having an average aspect ratio of 6 or less, it becomes possible to further reduce the loss of the powder-compact magnetic core. The powder-compact magnetic core according to the present invention is suitable for e.g. a reactor for voltage transformation to be provided in an electric vehicle, a hybrid car or the like. |
