PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely prevent a signal cable from coming into contact with a transparent plate.SOLUTION: An image read unit 3 provided in an image reader is provided with a holding part 351 which holds a flexible flat cable 52. The holding part 351 projects to a sub-scanning-directional upstream side and has a second wall part 352b. The flexible flat cable 52 extended from a connector 34a abuts on the second wall part 352b. Further, the flexible flat cable 52 has its downward movement restricted by a lower holding part 36, and also has an upward movement restricted by an upper holding part 38. Consequently, the flexible flat cable 52 never floats. |
