An image-signal evaluation unit (14) computes a first image-signal evaluation value on the basis of an image signal taken with the focus position of an imaging unit (10) set to the position of an imaging target. By comparing the first image-signal evaluation value with a given threshold, a water-drop-presence determination unit (17) performs a first-level determination as to whether or not there is a possibility that a water drop is present on an imaging window (10W). If it is determined in said first-level determination that there is a possibility that a water drop is present, the image-signal evaluation unit (14) computes a second image-signal evaluation value on the basis of an image signal taken with the focus position of the imaging unit (10) moved extremely close in. By comparing the first image-signal evaluation value and the second image-signal evaluation value, the water-drop-presence determination unit (17) performs a second-level determination as to whether or not a water drop is present on the imaging window (10W). If it is determined in said second-level determination that a water drop is present, a water-drop removal unit (20) removes said water drop from the imaging window (10W). |
