PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor light source driving device that can, even when some of plural semiconductor light source elements which are connected in series suffer disconnection-failure, continue turn-on of remaining semiconductor light source elements.SOLUTION: A semiconductor light source driving device has: a light source unit comprising plural light source modules connected in series; a DC power source unit for supplying a DC voltage to the light source unit; a current detector for detecting current flowing in the light source unit; a switching element driving unit for operating conductivity/non-conductivity of the switching element of each light source module; a storage unit; and a controller for controlling the DC power source unit, etc. The controller specifies a light source module containing a disconnection-failure light source element on the basis of a signal from the current detector, and stores information representing the specified light source module into the storage unit. The controller makes the switching element of the light source module, containing the disconnection-failure light source element, conduct on the basis of the information stored in the storage unit, thereby overcoming the disconnection-failure. |
