PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature that suppresses damage to leaders.SOLUTION: An armature 11 is so constructed that a commutator 14 having a plurality of segments 19 arranged circumferentially on an outer circumference of a substantially cylindrical insulator 18 and a core 13 having windings 17 wound via an insulator 15 are fixed to a rotary shaft 12 in axial tandem, and that leaders 17a (end portions 17b thereof) of the windings 17 led out from the core 13 are connected to connection portions 19a of the segments 19. The insulator 15 has a cylindrical cover portion 15a formed in a substantial cylinder to cover an outer circumference of the rotary shaft 12, the insulator 18 has at an end portion facing the core 13 a recessed portion 18a formed to accommodate a part of the cylindrical cover portion 15a, and a radial interval Z between an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical cover portion 15a and an inner circumferential surface of the recessed portion 18a is set shorter than a diameter of the windings 17 (leaders 17a). |
