PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical apparatus capable of shutting down the power supply for automatically restoring the operation when the power supply is resumed from a power failure in the case when control means gets runaway.SOLUTION: An electrical apparatus 100 includes: control means 87 that controls the operation status of the electrical apparatus 100; a power supply circuit 47 that supplies a power source voltage to the control means 87; a nonvolatile memory 91 for storing operational conditions; a latching relay 41 which is provided between a commercial power supply 88 and the power supply circuit 47; a latching relay drive circuit 46 for feeding a drive signal to the latching relay 41; a runaway detection circuit 92 for detecting a runaway of the control means 87; a zero-cross detection circuit 44 that generates pulses on the basis of the commercial power supply; and a comparison circuit 93 that feeds a release signal to the latching relay drive circuit 46 when receiving signals from the runaway detection circuit 92 and the zero-cross detection circuit 44. When the control means 87 runs away, the latching relay 41 turns off based on the release signal from the comparison circuit 93.
