<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary apparatus for manufacturing float glass, capable of efficiently conducting a supply work of a tin ingot to a float bath. <P>SOLUTION: An auxiliary apparatus 1 for manufacturing float glass supplies a tin ingot 4 to the molten tin bath of a float bath, and comprises a rigid long frame material 11 and a support 15 supporting the long frame material 11. The rigid long frame material 11 has a handle 14 and a balance weight 13 on one end thereof, and has, on the other end, a receiving member 12 for holding the tin ingot 4. The support 15 is arranged at a position where the moments in the side of the receiving member 12 and in the side of the balance weight 13 of the long frame material 11 are approximately equal.
