<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face containment device for exhausting polluted air while preventing the polluted air generated near a face during constructing a tunnel from spreading into the tunnel. <P>SOLUTION: The face containment device for preventing the spread of polluted air during constructing the tunnel where an exhaust pipe is installed comprises: a balloon formed by a bagged body; and a gate-shaped balloon truck on which the balloon is installed. With air flowing in and out of the bagged body, the expansion and shrinkage of the balloon are controlled. In the state that the balloon expands, the balloon has close contact with the exhaust pipe installed in the tunnel and with the ceiling wall face and the inner wall side face of the tunnel to close openings near the ceiling, side parts and center of the tunnel.
