<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable terminal and an image processing method capable of stably composing data on a virtual object, etc. to imaging data without influences of changing an imaging range or occurrence of hand shake, etc. <P>SOLUTION: In a portable terminal 100, a continuity detection part 103 detects a sensor value indicating the imaging range of an imaging part 101 and detects an imaging state, and a smoothing processing part 106 smooths the detected sensor value, using a smoothing parameter fixed on the basis of the detected photographing state. Then, a virtual object position determination part 108 calculates a composing position to the imaging data, on the basis of a smoothed sensor value and composes image data to the calculated composing position in the imaging data.
