<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus and an image processing method that can generate a single image full of variety from a plurality of images. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus configured to automatically lay out a plurality of images includes: rectangle generation means for dividing the plurality of images into a plurality of blocks of one or more images and generating block-specific rectangles for the arrangement of frames of the images included in the corresponding blocks; decision means for combining two of the block-specific rectangles to generate a new rectangle until generating a rectangle comprising the plurality of blocks where all the frames of the plurality of images are arranged to whereby decide the arrangement of the frames of the plurality of images; and image generation means for generating an image of the plurality of images arranged in one rectangle according to the arrangement of the frames of the plurality of images decided by the decision means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
