<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contact image sensor that prevents deterioration in image reading accuracy even when reading an image of an adjacent area of a hinge part of a book-type medium. <P>SOLUTION: A contact image sensor 1 includes: a light receiving element 3 for receiving reflected light from a reading-target portion 2b of a medium 2; an imaging optical system 4 for forming an image of the reading-target portion 2b on the light receiving element 3; a light emitter 5 for emitting light to the reading-target portion 2b; and a reflective surface 11a disposed at a side of the imaging optical system 4 for reflecting part of the light emitted from the light emitter 5 to the reading-target portion 2b. Optical path length from the light emitter 5 to the reading-target portion 2b is longer than optical path length from the light receiving element 3 to the reading-target portion 2b. A reflector for reflecting the light emitted from the light emitter 5 to the reading-target portion 2b is not arranged outside of a virtual space S in a sub scanning direction Y that is defined by the light emitter 5 and a virtual plane P defined by a main scanning direction X and depth of field D of the contact image sensor 1. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
