摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing method and the like capable of stably and appropriately extracting feature points in a captured image, which are protrusions like points, short lines and corners of an object etc. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing method includes the steps of: creating a direction-based density co-occurrence histogram by using a frequency of occurrence of a pair of values of two pixels including a target point in an original image and a point away from the target point by a distance d in a direction at an angle ofθ(S2); calculating appearance probability of elements of the direction-based density co-occurrence histogram (S3); calculating direction-based self entropy by using the element appearance probability of the direction-based histogram (S4); creating a direction-based self entropy image by replacing pixel values of the original image with values of corresponding direction-based self entropy (S5); and creating at least one of an infinite product image and a summation image as a feature image by using the direction-based self entropy image (S6, S7). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
