<p>A system comprises a host computer executing a plurality of virtual machines under the control of a hypervisor. A network interface card is coupled with a host machine. The network interface card implements a virtual switch having a plurality of virtual ports. Each of the (at least one) virtual ports is associated with one virtual machine. The network interface card manages selected traffic flow policies such as a quality of service (QoS) and provision of a bandwidth on a virtual machine basis, such that the network interface card can operate as a co-processor for the host computer.</p> |
