<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of an internal combustion engine that accurately controls a stop position of a piston in an engine stop to stop at a proper target stop position in view of restartability, and restarts the internal combustion engine as early and reliably as possible after satisfying an engine restart condition. <P>SOLUTION: A control device of a spark-ignition internal combustion engine includes a variable compression ratio mechanism and a variable valve timing mechanism. In the control device of the spark-ignition internal combustion engine, the internal combustion engine is automatically stopped when a predetermined condition is satisfied, while the internal combustion engine is automatically restarted when the predetermined condition has been not satisfied. The control device includes a stop position controller for stopping a predetermined piston onto the target stop position when the internal combustion engine is automatically stopped. In addition, the stop position controller controls an expansion ratio while allowing the variable compression ratio mechanism and the variable valve timing mechanism to keep an actual compression ratio constant, thereby stopping the piston onto the target stop position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
