<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cellulosic material particle having a form similar to a red blood cell, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The cellulosic material particle includes a cellulosic material and is a generally disk-shaped particle having a major axis of 10μm or less and a recessed central part on front and back surfaces. The method for producing the cellulosic material particle includes using a discharge means for discharging a raw material solution from one end of a capillary, a counter electrode in which a predetermined potential difference is imparted between the raw material solution discharged from the discharge means so that a Taylor cone may be formed in the raw material solution discharged and Coulomb explosion may occur from the tip thereof, and a power supply device for imparting the predetermined potential difference to inject the raw material solution toward the counter electrode from the discharge means to evaporate a solvent.
