<p>A waste container 1 has a moulded plastic hinged lid 8. The lid can include recesses 18 to receive stops 20 projecting up from the waste container to prevent excessive rotation about the hinge axis. Alternatively the lid can be hollow with depressions 46 in the upper and lower surfaces securing a metal tube 44 which forms part of the hinge. Each stop 20 can include an angled support leg welded to the hinge. The lid 8 could be made by rotational moulding. The tube retaining depressions 46 preferably extend over most of the tube 44.</p> |
