<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine in which the number of game balls to get into a winning region with a variable winning device is not constant even if the variable winning device is to close when a game ball gets thereinto. <P>SOLUTION: A variable unit 48 with a second operation part is provided under a second stage 45. An opening part 56 with an opening/closing member 49 to be opened/closed by the variable unit is formed on the second stage and a game ball which gets into the opening part gets into a third start pocket. When the game ball which gets into the opening part reaches the second operation part, the opening/closing member closes the opening part. When the opening/closing member closes the opening part, a game ball can roll on the opening member and, when the opening/closing member opens the opening part, the opening/closing member covers a part of the opening part to allow the game ball to roll on the covered part.
