<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently produce a non-amino organic acid such as succinic acid from sucrose as a raw material. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a bacterium having a non-amino organic acid-producing ability and having been modified so that the expression of ptsS gene is more increased than that of non-modified strain. The method for producing the non-amino organic acid includes treating sucrose with the bacterium or a treated product thereof in a reaction solution containing carbonate ion, bicarbonate ion or carbon dioxide gas to produce and accumulate the non-amino organic acid, and then collecting the non-amino organic acid from the reaction solution. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
