<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter capable of preventing guide wire separation, improving operability and safety and acquiring more excellent images. <P>SOLUTION: The catheter 1 includes: a catheter body 2 provided with a window part 26 through which inspection waves are transmitted; a detection part 41 for detecting the inspection waves inside the catheter body; a sheath 4 for covering the window part; and a guide wire insertion part to which a guide wire can be inserted and which is provided on the distal end part of the catheter body.
