Image processing apparatus and method comprising: setting analysis graphic 400 or detection line in a setting range within an area of captured image 300, and setting display region (range) 310 within the image; if analysis graphic 400 or line is partially outside display range: determining second analysis graphic (410, fig. 4B) with same number of vertices 400A-400D as the first, contained within display range; or determining second line within display range. The viewing range is shown as a frame on screen. Analysis area may be used for object detection. The line may be defined by two end points or by connecting multiple lines. If end point (904, fig. 9A) of line is outside display area it may be repositioned (907, fig. 9B) into display area. Part of the line or graphic falling outside display range may be cropped or trimmed away so that a new line or graphic has end points intersecting the side of (located on the edge of) display area. Graphic (710, fig. 7B) may indicate that analysis graphic (700, fig. 7B) is entirely outside display range. Positions of vertexes of analysis graphic may be stored. |
