A blast furnace gas treatment unit comprises a filter connected to the intake of a compressor, pref. a 1000-2000 kp/m2 vacuum pump; this compressor is torsionally coupled to a turbine, while the delivery from the copressor leads to a combustion chamber and the turbine is supplied with hot gas from the outlet of the combustion chamber. The combustion chamber is supplied with atmospheric air from a blower.
