Disclosed is a method of processing data tasks. When a request to perform task is received the method identifies if the request matches any of a set of previously received requests for which result data valves has been generated as part of a result data stream. If the request does not match any in the set of previously received requests, then the request is processed and the results output. If the request does match one of the set of previously received requests then a pointer to the result of the matching previous results is generated. The method may store in a cache memory tag values identifying the set of previously received requests and to identify received request the received tag values are compared with the stored values. The method may be used with a graphics processing pipeline includes a vertex transformation stage having a vertex transformation cache. The transform vertex data is stored to a memory before being retrieved as required by a rasterization stage. |
