<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gateway device capable of resuming TCP communication when re-establishing the session disconnected by the gateway device itself. <P>SOLUTION: A gateway device 1 has: packet detectors 14A and 14B detecting reception of a packet; a packet holding part 15 temporarily holding the received packet; a session controller 16, in the case that a packet using one session is not detected for a predetermined time period, disconnecting the session; and a storage part 17 storing disconnection information indicating whether or not the session is disconnected by the session controller 16. In the case that a TCP packet using this session is received from an IP terminal 3 after disconnection of the session, this TCP packet is temporarily held to re-establish the session. The TCP connection is established based on the disconnection information stored in the storage part 17 after re-establishment of the session.
