In the present invention, there is disclosed a vibration and noise damper for rail vehicle wheels to which it is uniformly secured along their circumference by means of bolts, pins or rivets, consisting of at least two segments formed by a supporting part (2) for attaching to the wheel (1), a pressure part (3), and a damping part (4). The pressure part (3), being coupled by means of screws (9) with the supporting part (2), is formed either by an independent metallic or composite element, whereby in compressed state, said damping part (4) is situated between the pressure part (3) a wheel (1) rim or it forms directly a part of the damping part (4) and wherein in the direction from the wheel (1) rim, said damping part (4) is formed by a deformation flexible metallic or composite layer (4a), a viscous elastic layer (4b) and optionally by another metallic or composite layer (4c). It is preferred to make the supporting part (2) of metallic or composite material. Preferred is also the embodiment, when heat-insulating pads (5) are located between the supporting part (2) and the wheel (1) and/or between the fastener for attaching the supporting part (2) to the wheel (1) and the wheel (1). The viscous elastic layer (4b) of the damping part (4) can comprise glass or ceramic fibers and can be provided with a system of openings (4d) and/or radial cuts (4e) of various form, wherein the number, size and distribution thereof is different for the individual kinds of dampers in the dependence on their form. |
