<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a high-quality level sheet-like prepreg at high productivity, using a thermoplastic resin with high melt viscosity. <P>SOLUTION: This sheet-like prepreg is manufactured by making a passage of a strip bundle 2 of reinforcing fibers through a die 4 and then, impregnating the bundle 2 with a molten thermoplastic resin. Next, a sealing part 7 which can reduce the internal degree of vacuum of a path to a specified degree of vacuum, is connected with the upstream just behind the die 4 through a temperature controllable connecting part 8. Further, the strip bundle 2 of reinforcing fibers is allowed to pass through the path whose internal pressure is reduced to the specified degree of vacuum by the sealing part 7. In addition, the internal temperature of the path is set in the way that it tends to be lower than the going temperature level upstream and higher downstream. Finally, the strip bundle 2 of reinforcing fibers past the connecting part 8 is introduced into the die 4.
