PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording medium which has high transfer sensitivity on high speed printing, in which dye used for a dye layer can be reduced, and, even after preservation at high temperature under high moisture, abnormal transfer on printing can be prevented, and shininess at a high density portion can be reduced.SOLUTION: The thermal transfer recording medium is composed of: a base material; a heat resistant slipping layer formed on one side thereof; an undercoat layer formed on the another side thereof; and the dye layer. The undercoat layer includes: a compound represented by formula (1); a compound represented by formula (2); a water-soluble polymer which is a polyvinyl alcohol and/or a polyvinyl pyrrolidone; and a vinylpyrrolidone-vinylimidazole copolymer. Si(OR)(1) (where, Ris CH, CHor CHOCH), and (RSi(OR))(2) (where, Ris an organic functional group; Ris CH, CHor CH4OCH; and n is an integer of 1 to 100). |
