<p>The electric vehicle is fitted with a set of wiper contacts (K1, K2) which pick up current from the rails (S1, S2) and drive the motor (M). At the same time an accumulator (A) is constantly charged via a current regulating circuit (R). If the vehicle passes gaps in the conductor rail, or if ittmoves from one track to another, without requiring complex switching, then the accumulator provides sufficient power to drive the vehicle independently. An electronic control circuit (ES) ensures a regulated power supply to the motor. Current can be drawn from the accumulator to boost the motor torque for starting or for ascending inclines etc.</p> |
